“It is the Lord!” Finding Jesus in the Everyday
An Advent Parish Mission with the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.

Dear friends,

Two friar-priests of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, Fr Dismas Kline and Fr Luke Joseph Leighton will lead an Advent Parish Mission for Corpus Christi Catholic Community and St Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church December 5th – 8th. Fr Kline will deliver a series of talks inspired by the Apostles’ recognition of the Risen Lord when he appeared to them on the shore of the Sea of Tiberias (John 21). In that account, while fishing, John recognizes the risen Jesus on the shore and says to Peter, “It is the Lord!” And Peter, ever impetuous, leaps into the water and swims to the shore, to Jesus. For Peter and John and the disciples with them, fishing was their work, their profession, their "everyday." They see and recognize the Risen Lord in the midst of their quotidian tasks – and it can be the same for us! Fr Dismas will teach us to look for, recognize, know, and love the Lord as he presents himself to us in our own daily activities – “It is the Lord!: Finding Jesus in the Everyday.” The talks will be given in the context of Adoration and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, with ample opportunity for Confession, on Thursday and Friday evenings and on Saturday afternoon. The fathers will also be with us for Mass on Sunday.

It is a great privilege to have the friars with us – please plan on attending and inviting friends to come along as well!

God bless you,
Fr Patrick Allen
